Changing the makeup I'm using has been integral in this Gluten Free Soy Free process and I have been amazed at what it's doing for my complexion. My best friend mentioned how beautiful my skin looked with absolutely no provocation! (And she's known me for 15 years now, so she'd know ;-)
The connection between what I eat and my breakouts
I've discovered (accidentally) that when I eat soy, even in small amounts, I break out within the next week. It's happened 2-3 times now (even once when I didn't realize I had eaten soy til 2 weeks later), so I'm sure.
Foundation
Juice Beauty's Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream in Natural Glow. It's Certified Organic. Upon speaking with the company, I discovered that their certified gluten free products contain soy, so they directed me to this product. As I am not a stickler for "certified gluten free" I thought I'd give it a try. It provides a sheer coverage, much like a tinted moisturizer, and as an added bonus, 30SPF. No breakouts, and my skin feels great! So great, in fact, that on those, "staying-in, no-makeup" days, I still reach for this. I bought it from Ulta for $39.
Powder
Juice Beauty's Refining Finishing Powder in Ivory. This one in Certified Organic too. I use this only when I'm looking really shiny. It just makes my skin seem almost too dry if I'm not having an oily day. I bought it at Ulta for $22.
Blush
Physicians Formula Powder Palette Multi-Colored Custom Blush in Brunettes. The color is very pink-peachy and I really liked it during the warmed months, but am now about to hunt for something a bit on the wine end of the color spectrum. I bought it at Target for under $15.
Eyeshadow
Using the following until I run out: L'Oreal Paris 24hr Infallible in Eternal Black, Midnight Blue, Golden Emerald, Eternal Sunshine, and Continuous Cocoa. I bought them at Walmart for under $15 each.
I like these colors, but in speaking with the company, all they sent me was an incomprehensible list of ingredients. I adore this next company below, not just because it's good for me, but because the colors are beautiful too. ...
Red Apple Lipstick's Eyeshadow in Buttercream, Minx, Vintage Violet, Black Magic, Bronze Bombshell, and Graphite Glam. These colors are stunning as well as paraben, gluten, soy free, and more! I bought them directly from RedAppleLipstick.com; they run $18.75 each. (Btw, I use their Rallye Balm and the Black Magic eyeshadow to make gel eyeliner.)
Mascara
Lash Ink by Hard Candy. I love this stuff because it doesn't flake off and it lasts for days! Got it at Walmart for under $15.
Lip Gloss
Red Apple Lipstick's Lip Gloss in Honey Badger, Firestorm, and Love Letter. Love Letter and Honey Badger are very similar except for a hint of shimmer in Honey Badger. Firestorm has the coverage of a lipstick and the gloss of a, well, lip gloss. Beautiful and striking color. I bought them directly from RedAppleLipstick.com; $18.50 each.
Lip Stick
I've only tried a sample size of one of Red Apple Lipstick's lip colors (Mayberry). I liked the feel of the lipstick (best if applied with a lip brush), but the color wasn't exactly what I was looking for. I'll definitely be ordering more to try in the new year. The sticks run $23.50 each; the samples $3 each.
Lip Balm
SO important for gluten free peeps! Red Apple Lipstick's Rallye Balm. This is by far the best lip balm I have ever used. It has healed my lips and I will never be caught without it! It cost $15 and was WELL worth it. When I run out, I will drop that again in a heartbeat.

I am formerly a Walmart/CVS makeup shopper. Paying this much for ANY of the above products would never have even crossed my mind, however, 1) finding products that are gluten and soy free is now of paramount importance, and 2) these products are good for my skin even beyond being free of allergens. I am now a firm believer that no price is too high for healthy, clear skin. And although I won't be having children for a few years, I can rest comfortably in the fact that I'm not putting dangerous chemicals in my body and near my babies.
